Junior High Coaches Meet
2015
Hempfield High School Track
Thursday May 7

Rain date Monday May 11

This meet is a championship meet as well as a participation meet.

Awards:
Medals to top 3 in individual events and relays
Ribbons to places 4,5 and 6
There is a first and second place team trophy awarded in both boys and girls divisions.
Points are awarded on a 10-8-6-4-2-1 basis.

To preserve the integrity of the competition please enter valid times and distances performed in PIAA sanctioned meets.  Coaches pay special attention to entry rules.  These rules are intended to ensure fair play and teach our athletes that winning can only be achieved by following rules. Sometimes rules are made for the good of the group and not the individual.

There are a few changes for this year.

  1. The meet entry fee is $200 per school (previously $150).
  2.  There will be a spectator fee of $3 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens.
  3. FAT timing will be used this year

Meet Director Ted Zellers
Questions concerning the meet should be directed to:
steve_haldeman@hempfieldsd.org
School 717-898-5530
Home 717-285-0371

Terry Engleman will handle seeding.  Entries should be e-mailed to
coache@dejazzd.com

This is the only way to enter your athletes in this meet

All entries must be made by the deadline, which is Friday May 1.  Entries received after this time will not be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Last year was a major improvement after instituting this rule.  Thank you! LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Rules

1. Each school is entitled to one entry in each event regardless of performance.  If more than one entry is listed, ALL entries must meet the qualifying standard. A maximum of 3 will be accepted.

2. Coaches do not have to enter names for relays runners.  You will be given cards to name your athletes at the time of the relay.   These will be handed to the Clerk of Course.

3. A name entered counts as an event. Only three events per athlete.  Relays count as an event.  If you enter an athlete in three individual events and then decide to scratch out of any of those individual events, you may NOT put that athlete in a relay. The relay will be disqualified if this occurs.

4.  All entries will be sent by e-mail to Terry Engleman via e-mail @ coache@dejazzd.com. Please be sure to provide the same info as requested on the entry form included in this packet when you e-mail Terry. Entries must be received by Friday, May 1 at noon.  Some teams may have meets after this date.  Athletes may not qualify for the Coaches Meet at these meets.  Entries will close and seedings will be completed based on results of meets that occurred before May 1.

5.There will be limited entries in the 100 & 200.  Even if your athletes meet the standard, he/she may not be accepted. The first entry of each school will be accepted.  The next best times to complete a field of 32 will be accepted. If ties cause the field to exceed 32, the tied entries will be deleted.  All athletes who meet the standard in other events are accepted regardless of the field size.

6. One relay entry per school.

7. The High Jump will start at 3”10” for girls and 4”6” for boys.

If there are no problems with late entries, seeding will be posted sometime after
Tuesday, May 5  at bobtrump.com.  If there are any corrections, e-mail or call
Terry Engleman @ 733-7430.

The seedings will be set to go Tuesday May 5th.  Changes only can be made the day of the meet if an athlete scratches and your school has only one entry, you may replace them. There will be no reseeding of heats.

NO seeding meeting for coaches!  Meeting will be held at 2:45 at the track starting line the day of the meet.  Coaches will receive a packet with hard copies of the seeds, time schedules and records.  All of these will be online prior to the meet.
